When New York parents are deciding on a day care facility for their children, there are multiple factors that they need to consider. Location is important; having a facility that is conveniently located can potentially save a lot of time spent traveling for both parents and kids. Certainly, cost is always a concern as well. Day care can be expensive for a single child, and if multiple kids need to go, costs can add up quickly.
Of course, safety is always something that parents need to worry about. However, it might seem that most facilities are on par with one another when it comes to safety. As long as a facility is properly registered with the state, parents usually trust that it will be safe enough to house their children for a few hours every day.

However, there are always unforeseen circumstances – some that can end up with parents’ worst fears being realized. This is the case with the family of a 7-year-old Texas boy. He was at his day care last week when he bumped a table and a large television toppled over and struck him on the head. The boy died a few days later.
Details about the incident are scarce thus far. It’s not clear exactly what happened, but for something like this to occur, it would seem at least possible that a caregiver was not in the area at the time of the accident, or someone wasn’t paying attention. If the worst happens, there are attorneys with experience in child care negligence cases who can assist families.
